At the Basic Needs Pop-ups, BNC volunteers give away personal hygiene and household products for free. Everyone is welcome to pick up what they need on a first-come, first-served basis. We organize 2-3 Basic Needs Pop-ups in the Fall and Spring semesters. Each time, we table at up to 4 spots around campus.
*Currently on pause due to funding. We are working hard to resume the Pop-ups at Southside as soon as possible.
Since Spring 2025, we’ve been partnering with Southside Community Center to bring Basic Needs Pop-ups there every first and last Saturday of the month at 12-2 pm, the same time as Southside’s own Food Pantry.
We thank the people at Southside for letting us share their space to store and give away Basic Needs products!
Responsibilities include managing orders and funding, transporting products, and tabling. As most of us are students, we especially need help from volunteers who have a car. Contact [email protected] to let us know that you’re interested, or just come to our open meetings!

We’re especially grateful for long-term commitments—such as sponsoring a certain number of Pop-ups per semester for the entire school year—because they allow us to serve our community more consistently and reliably.
